Recent Work
Jill Ansell is a West Australian artist and current Archibald finalist. Her work was included in the 2024 and 2023 Archibald Prizes and the 2023 Portia Geach Memorial Award. She has also been a finalist in the Lester and Doug Moran Portrait Prizes and has won many awards, including the BankWest Open Art Award.
Jill's work is diverse, ranging from portraits to beach scenes and surreal desert landscapes. In recent years she is best known for portraits that engage viewers with humor and warmth. These portraits often combine real objects and paintings to provide an intriguing and intimate glimpse into her subject's world.
